Meet Jordan Woodbridge – Technical Director at Solaas

From rebooting his first PC at 17 to leading the technical vision at SolaaS, Jordan Woodbridge’s career has been built on curiosity, determination, and a genuine love for solving problems that most people would rather avoid.

Jordan began his journey as an IT apprentice, eager to learn and fascinated by the way technology could make life easier, or harder, depending on its mood. His early days were spent absorbing everything he could, developing a reputation for enthusiasm, quick thinking, and an uncanny ability to fix things simply by turning them off and on again.

As he progressed into an IT Engineer role, Jordan took on more responsibility and increasingly complex challenges. This was where he mastered one of the most underrated engineering skills: looking calm and confident even when the technology was doing the exact opposite. Over the next five years, he built a solid technical foundation across infrastructure, support, troubleshooting, and the occasional printer battle that no training course could ever prepare you for.

Seeking bigger challenges, Jordan made the bold decision to commute to London daily, because what better way to grow professionally than combining a demanding new role with navigating the Tube at rush hour. In London, he stepped into a 3rd Line Telephony Engineer position, working on advanced telephony, VoIP, and unified communications. These were finally the kinds of problems that couldn’t be solved by “try it again.”

Jordan continued to expand his expertise in another London-based technical role, refining his communication skills and perfecting the art of explaining SIP trunks without accidentally confusing everyone in the room.

Eventually, he realised that while London had its perks, so did sleep, space, and a healthy work–life balance. That’s when he joined SolaaS.

Today, as Technical Director, Jordan brings together years of hands-on engineering experience, deep telecoms knowledge, and a leadership style built on clarity, collaboration, and a genuine passion for helping businesses get the best from their technology. His journey from apprentice to director reflects the values at the heart of SolaaS: expertise, integrity, and a commitment to delivering solutions that simply work.

We asked Jordan during Apprentice Week 2026 for his thoughts on the inititiative, “Apprentice Week is important to me because my entire career started as a 17‑year‑old apprentice. That opportunity built the foundation for every step that followed, from becoming an IT engineer, to developing specialist skills in London, to eventually becoming Technical Director at SolaaS.

It reminds me how powerful early opportunities can be, and why supporting apprentices is essential for developing future talent and strengthening our industry.”
